Ultrasonic cleaning
Each device undergoes a four step ultrasonic cleaning process to ensure near medical grade cleanliness. EDJY Cutters are washed in a water based solvent to remove dirt and other contaminants. Next they pass through two rinse tanks to remove excess solvent and any other stray material. Finally, blades are moved to a forced air drier at over 200F to remove any remaining rinse water.

High-performance engineering-grade polymer
EDJY's molded parts are constructed from a high-performance engineering-grade polymer, typically used for metal replacement in under-the-hood automotive applications. These parts are chemical-resistant, UV-protected, and have been rigorously tested beyond 150,000 cycles with negligible wear or change in properties, ensuring longevity beyond expectation.
Each EDJY cutter uses less than .5oz of resin, that's about half of the plastic used in a soda bottle.

Traditional nail clippers are built for planned obsolescence and their price reflects the need to replace them often. Every part of our design and manufacturing was carefully planned to create a product that will last many lifetimes.
We didn't take any shortcuts and didn't use traditional nail clippers as the benchmarks for our nail cutter components. Our research focused on materials that were subjected to extreme conditions and designed to stand the test of time. Our products cost a little bit more because you deserve a better nail cutting experience, time and time again.
EDJY stainless steel
EDJY blades are made of a proprietary cold-rolled, martensitic stainless steel that is custom rolled to our precise specifications. Our blade is then precision stamped, heat treated and then electropolished. The electropolishing is an electrochemical process whereby tiny amounts of the iron on the surface of the blade part is preferentially dissolved. This results in relatively more chromium on the surface creating the polished finish - it's the opposite of a coating. This chromium surface finish allows EDJY blades to achieve an ASTM D610 corrosion rating of 9 - unprecedented in the industry.
EDJY precision blade
Our blade edge is called the CurvED-Je. Pronounced "curved edge." EDJY precision grinds and polishes our blade edges in a custom-made and proprietary process utilizing three custom-made high-tech grinding stations operating on both the inside and outside of our edge. This blade geometry helps draw your clipping into the EDJY cavity instead of shooting it across your [bathroom]. Then the blade edge is polished on both sides insuring that it's the best in the industry - by far.
EDJY molded parts
EDJY's molded parts are made from a truly remarkable high-performance engineering grade polymer typically used for metal replacement parts in under-the-hood automotive applications. EDJY's molded parts are impervious to chemicals, are UV protected, and have been tested beyond 150,000 cycles with virtually no wear or change in properties.
EDJY spring
EDJY's spring is stamped from aerospace grade stainless, spring steel. The elasticity in this spring will remain effective for an ~unlimited period of time given the gauge, loads and deflection that are required.
EDJY pins
EDJY's stainless steel pins are custom made for us in Illinois and are passivated to minimize corrosion. The pins are then custom formed across the EDJY nail cutter using modern, USA-made technology to insure that the mechanism stays aligned forever.

Do you ship outside of the US?
Currently we are only distributing our products in the United States. We plan on opening up international shipping in the future. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions on the timing of international shipping destinations.
How long will it take to get my order?
It depends on where you are. Orders processed here generally will take 5-7 business days to arrive via USPS. Delivery details and tracking information will be provided in your shipping confirmation email. Rush shipping is available at checkout.
Does it work for toenails?
Not really. The EDJY Nail Cutter is designed for use on fingernails. It's plenty sharp for toenails but the gap is smaller and the radii are tighter to better fit fingernails. Don't worry, the EDJY product development team is certainly focused on a new next level toenail cutter for launch in '25. Stay tuned!
Do you use recycled material?
With a commitment to sustainability we use over 90% recycled steel in all of our metal parts. We weren't able to find a recycled resin that met our standards and instead focused on creating a product that uses less plastic than a soda bottle, stands up to the most stringent lab durability tests and will last for multiple lifetimes. This commitment to quality will ensure fewer products end up in landfills.
